A refreshing summer drink combining the sweet flavor of strawberries with the floral notes of hibiscus tea.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups of water
2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
1-2 tablespoons honey or your choice of natural lemonade sweeteners
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
4 cups cold water
1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes, for serving
Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Hibiscus Tea: In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add dried hibiscus flowers, and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain the tea into a bowl, discarding the flowers. Stir in honey while the tea is still warm until dissolved. Set aside to cool.
Make the Strawberry Puree: Place the sliced strawberries in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, then strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and cold water. Stir in the granulated sugar, adjusting to taste. Mix thoroughly until the sugar is dissolved.
Chill and Serve: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least an hour. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the Fresh Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade over the top.
Garnish and Enjoy: Add a sprig of fresh mint to each glass for a refreshing touch.
